The Award
The Delta modules are among the most prestigious teacher-training qualifications in the world. This well-respected advanced in-service TESL/TEFL/TESOL qualification awarded by Cambridge English Language Assessment, part of the world-renowned University of Cambridge, is a flexible way for experienced English language teachers to progress further in their careers. Achievement of Delta helps teachers prepare for more senior teaching roles and educational management positions, while facilitating progression to other qualifications such as MAs in Linguistics, Language Teaching, and Education. Delta consists of three modules containing course work, teaching practice, exam and extended research assignment.
-
Module 1: externally assessed via a 3-hour exam on the theory of
learning and teaching.
-
Module 2: based on coursework and teaching practice, it is assessed
internally and externally, with one external observation by
a Cambridge English Language Assessment representative.
-
Module 3: also externally assessed by Cambridge English Language
Assessment, it is based on an extended assignment, and
generally referred to as specialism.
