All courses are delivered on a complete LMS, which features tasks, discussions, and recorded real-time meetings.

Course Contents

The course is organized in 8 chapters, as follows:

 

1. An overview of materials design and its conundrums

2. The many roles of teaching materials

3. The mechanics of writing materials

4. Rationale underpinning task writing

5. Understanding different challenges in tasks 

6. The need for finishing touches

7. A critical view of teaching materials

8. Different materials, different means

A total of at least six course materials will be produced along the course.

Course Fees

There are two possible fees for this course, as follows:

Regular Fee

After the 8 weeks, no material produced along the course will be shared with GTP.

Partner Fee

After the 8 weeks, all materials produced along the course will be shared with GTP, which may make them available for download on its site (and stills needs to give writers credit).

Certificates of conclusion will be issued for participants who submit all tasks.

Course Tutor

André is the main course tutor at GTP. He has a B.A. in communication from PUC/SP, holds RSA COTE, IHCOLT, and Cambridge Delta. He has also got a Masters in TESOL & Applied Linguistics from the University of Leicester/UK. André has been working in ELT and bilingual education for more than 30 years in Brazil and abroad. He has been a teacher, academic coordinator, teacher trainer, and/or academic manager in institutes like Cultura Inglesa, CELLEP, International House São Paulo, and GTP. Besides designing and tutoring language courses for teachers of English in different schools, he has also tutored CELTA, CELTA Online, and Delta (all modules) for a number of centers from different countries. André has written coursebooks and edited language series for a number of publishing houses and language schools in Brazil.
