All courses are delivered on Canvas, a complete LMS, which features tasks, discussions, and recorded real-time meetings. Zoom may also be used for those.

Course Contents

This is a nice component of our ELT Teacher Training. The course is organized in 8 chapters, as follows:

 

1. An overview of ELT/CLIL materials design

2. The many roles of teaching materials

3. The mechanics of writing materials

4. Rationale underpinning task design

5. Understanding different challenges in tasks 

6. The need for finishing touches

7. A critical view of teaching materials

8. Different modes, different materials

A total of at least six course materials will be produced along the course.

Course Fees

There are two possible fees for this course, as follows:

Regular Fee

After the 8 weeks, all materials produced will belong exclusively to the teacher/designer.

After the 8 weeks, all materials produced along the course will be shared with GTP, which may make them available for download on its site (and stills needs to give writers credit).

Course Tutor

André is the academic manager at GTP. He has a B.A. in communication from PUC/SP, holds RSA COTE, IHCOLT, and Cambridge Delta. He has also got a Masters in TESOL & Applied Linguistics from the University of Leicester/UK. André has been working in ELT and bilingual education for more than 30 years in Brazil and abroad. He has produced materials for Pearson, The British Council, Centro Britânico, 2Ways and DSOP, among others. He also designs paper-based and internet-based materials for different schools. More recently, he has designed PLUS!, an English practice platform. André also has a lot of fun tutoring CELTA, CELTA Online, and Delta (all modules) for a number of centers from different countries.
